Bowen therapy is a gentle myofascial technique originally founded in Australia by Thomas Bowen. It involves a series of rolling-type moves performed on soft tissue which are applied to specific meridian points on the body, in a particular order, and with pauses in between. This process stimulates the autonomic nervous system to switch from a stress state to a healing state. Busy lifestyles often come hand in hand with chronic stress, which drastically reduces our capacity to recover. Essentially, Bowen therapy resets the nervous system by bringing it back to a relaxed and balanced state where necessary healing can take place. As such, Bowen therapy may treat physical and emotional conditions, such as pain, muscle tension, headaches, anxiety, depression, insomnia, fatigue, digestive concerns, and much more.

Bowen therapy is beneficial for treating:

  • Migraine and tension headaches

  • Dizziness and vertigo

  • TMJ-related pain

  • Neck and shoulder strains

  • Knee, ankle, or foot pain

  • Back pain and sciatica

  • Pelvic tilt, leg length, or hip imbalances

  • Acute sports injuries

  • Constipation
