BOTOX FOR HYPERHIDROSIS
Treatment for Excessive Sweating
WHAT IS IT?
We use a purified protein neuromodulator that helps control sweating by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands, thereby preventing sweat from being produced in the treatment area.
WHAT AREAS CAN BE TREATED?
Neuromodulator treatment for hyperhidrosis works well when treating underarms, palms and forehead. Many people achieve a 90% reduction in sweating, however, results vary. For sensitive areas such as the underarms and palms a freezing technique may be used to minimize discomfort.
The length of treatment depends on the area being treated. On average, the treatments are completed in 20 to 30 minutes
There is no recovery time for Botox injections and patients may return to normal activities after a few hours
DOES IT HURT
Our trained physicians ensure that there is minimal to no pain during the injections, although you may experience some injection related discomfort.
ARE THERE SIDE EFFECTS?
Side effects, if they occur, are temporary. These commonly include minor bruising and swelling at the injection site. There may be temporary weakening of the fine muscles of the hands in some individuals who have had injections in the palms
Once injections have been administered, sweating is usually controlled for 6 to 12 months. Repeat treatments are required as the effects begin to diminish.
The reduction in sweating begins to take effect in the first few days, but it may take up to 1 week to reach full effectiveness.
