BOTOX FOR MIGRAINES

Migraines can be extremely painful and negatively affect not only the lives of patients but also those around them. Serious migraines can cause debilitating pain, sensitivity to light and sound, blurry vision, nausea, vomiting, lightheadedness and even fainting. Botox Therapeutic has proven to be a highly effective treatment for reducing the severity of tension headaches and migraines. Some patients have even had their migraines completely eradicated.

WHAT IS IT?
Migraine treatment consists of a purified protein neuromodulator injections into the muscle groups surrounding the head and neck. Relaxing the muscles in these areas can reduce tension, as well reduce the pain signals sent to the brain.

ARE THERE SIDE EFFECTS?
Side effects, if they occur, are temporary. These commonly include minor bruising and swelling at the injection site.

PROCEDURE TIME
The length of treatment depends on the area being treated. On average, the treatments are completed in 10 to 20 minutes

DOES IT HURT
Our trained physicians ensure that there is minimal to no pain during the injections, although you may experience some injection related discomfort.

TREATMENT FREQUENCY

Once injections have been administered, headaches and migraines are usually controlled for 6 to 12 months. Repeat treatments are required as the effects diminish over time.

RESULTS

The reduction in migraines and muscle tension begins to take effect in the first few days, but it may take up to 1 week to reach full effectiveness.
