BOTOX FOR MIGRAINES

Migraines can be extremely painful and negatively affect not only the lives of patients but also those around them. Serious migraines can cause debilitating pain, sensitivity to light and sound, blurry vision, nausea, vomiting, lightheadedness and even fainting. Botox Therapeutic has proven to be a highly effective treatment for reducing the severity of tension headaches and migraines. Some patients have even had their migraines completely eradicated. 

WHAT IS IT?
Migraine treatment consists of a purified protein neuromodulator injections into the muscle groups surrounding the head and neck. Relaxing the muscles in these areas can reduce tension, as well reduce the pain signals sent to the brain. 

PROCEDURE TIME
Appointments are 20 to 30 minutes depending on the areas being treated

RECOVERY TIME
There is no recovery time for Botox injections and patients may return to normal activities after a few hours.

DOES IT HURT
You may experience some injection related discomfort.

ARE THERE SIDE EFFECTS?
minor bruising and swelling at the injection site.

TREATMENT FREQUENCY 
Repeat treatments are required every 6 to 12 months as the effects diminish over time.

RESULTS 
Reduction in migraines and muscle tension in the first few days, up to 1 week to reach full effectiveness

PRE TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS 
Do not consume alcoholic beverages 24 hours prior. Avoid anti inflammatory medications 72 hours prior.

AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE?
You cannot receive this treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a known neurological disorder (i.e. Myasthenia Gravis or Eaton Lambert Syndrome), or have an allergy to the ingredients in the botulinum toxin formulation, specifically albumin.
